Being a native southern Californian and always living near the beach has given me a lifetime of loving California: the sun and sunsets, wind and ocean mist. As an artist I look for the shadows and colors. This is a special place and state.

A twenty-seven-year profession in teaching has taught me to paint with a child's point of view...playfulness, fun, and joy. When I achieve these, I get lost in time too. The pictures paint themselves while I go along for the ride- the sun, the sky, the wind and the feeling of being whole and alive. I love painting plein-air: seascapes and landscapes along the coast. I am available for commissioned paintings of portraits, homes and pets. 

My paintings capture a moment of time and beauty. My style is Californian Impressionistic. I paint in oil and have also studied watercolor and multimedia.

Great art is always about discovery and discipline. What first began as a hobby years ago, has now turned into a passion and delight.
